Delta Gamma

Chapter History

Delta Gamma was founded by Eva Webb Dodd, Mary Comfort Leonard, and Anna Boyd Ellington on December 25th, 1873 at the Lewis School for Girls in Oxford, Mississippi. Delta Gamma is one of the oldest and largest women's fraternities in the United States.  

The Beta Omega chapter was founded in 1946 at Washington State University. On November 2, 1946, the Beta Omega chapter was officially installed at Washington State University, making Delta Gamma the 13th National Panhellenic Council group to be established on the Washington State University campus. 1971 marked the 25th anniversary of the Beta Omega chapter and it was celebrated by eight of the 13 chartering members of the founding class of Beta Omega.
